Au Revoir, Boston...

When I started touring colleges while I was in high school, I was always most eager to hear about each school's study abroad programs. I feel as though I've waited my entire life for this opportunity. Although I am sad to leave my (ailing) country behind, I could not be more excited to embark on the adventures that await.

I am so thankful to have grown up in a home where my parents thought that travel is one of the greatest investments one can make in their education. And thus I have grown to value immensely the things one can learn from visiting and doing their best to immerse themselves in a foreign culture. While I chose my study abroad program not primarily for its location - but rather its educational contents - I am eager to learn what it means to be Swiss. The country's incredible history of neutrality, loyalty, connections, and steadfastness not only teaches valuable lessons for my major, but are also important values to live by. Both personally and politically, I have a lot to learn from Switzerland.

As the clock ticks down and I begin my final 24 hours in the states, my stomach is churning... Partly from nerves and partly in anticipation of the mountains of chocolate I am about to consume for the next 3.5 months.

See ya later!
